I’ve been eating really healthy this past month. I can really feel the difference. I also think of it as clean eating, as in no bad food.
Eating healthy can be easy. I eat a lot of egg white omelets, turkey breast and chicken breast. And healthy eating can be cheap as well.
For instance, I have 4 grocery stores to choose from here. I check their weekly ads online (no need to buy a paper for the ads). I find out who has eggs on sale, I can usually find at least one. If not, Wal-Mart or Trader Joes has everyday good prices for eggs. If you really get into eating lots of egg whites, you can buy 5 dozen, usually for about 5 bucks.
Healthy eating also applies to meat. I buy frozen turkey breasts when they are on sale. Last time, I bought 2 8 pound breasts for $1.50 a pound. Cooked them and then sliced and froze the turkey breast in several zipper bags. For chicken breasts, I buy them for $2 pound in bulk and slice them into 3-4 ounce servings and freeze them in cheap sandwich bags and then into a large freezer bag. Easy to defrost and grill.
Healthy eating also means eating whole grains. I’ve found sources for whole wheat tortillas, bread, and pita. They are tasty, without any high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils, which I avoid like the plague. I’ve also changed out condiments like ketchup to get rid of bad ingredients.
Eating healthy pays off. You will have more energy, more stamina, and sleep better. It is worth the effort to clean up your pantry and refrigerator. Have healthy food around, eat it regularly and your body will thank you!
