Veggie burgers

I found an article about what to look for in a veggie burger and why you should eat them. It points out that in general, veggie burgers are low in saturated fat, tend to be smaller than beef hamburger patties, and often contain soy, which has health benefits of its own. They are very quick to make, just a couple of minutes in the microwave in most cases.

Which one you like is very subjective. My favorites change from time to time. I like the Burger Nouveau from Trader Joes, but the last time I was there, I didn’t see them. That is the only drawback of Trader Joes, sometimes they stop carrying items, then you are out of luck. Other options are Boca Burgers, they have 36 different products and bring out new ones rather frequently.

Another favorite, which mimics a burger only by it’s shape, is Morningstar Farm’s Garden Veggie Patties. I love their taste. I also enjoy their breakfast sausage patties. (Not the links though, for some reason).

Give a veggie burger a try. Find one or two you like and keep a box in the freezer. Much better for you than beef burgers.
