Inserting Ares Ascendant into this timeline makes quite a bulge, since the scope of this work covers well over a year. But then, the Xenaverse is a flexible place. As you begin reading, keep an open mind...this is a long, complex tale and the characters and their attitudes evolve from how they begin in the introductory chapters. The story covers many favorite characters and introduces some new ones that will become friends (and enemies!).

We're posting this work as a beta version (its "next-to-last" draft version) because we haven't had the chance (or the energy, to be honest!) to go back and make sure that all the character's names are spelled consistently and rope on the saddle in one chapter is still there in the next. We hope to keep working on things as we post them and get your comments, because we're pretty sure we've introduced our very own YAXIs (Yet Another Xena Inconsistency) into the mix.  <g> The story itself will not change except as needed to resolve continuity conflicts.

Get ready for a cracking good adventure story about beloved characters  that should please the most picky of fanfic readers.
